Overworking from home

Many of us have been working from home for some time now and whilst lockdown is easing it is still uncertain as to when we will all be able to go back into our normal office/work environment.

Have you found yourself struggling with work-life balance more now than before lockdown?

It could be that you have fallen into some bad habits, such as, not taking regular breaks, not sticking to set hours when you can, taking on more than you can deliver; all of these can lead us to feel overworked and in some cases cause burnout, which ultimately can affect mental health and all-round productivity.

  • It is important to try and keep to a routine as much as possible and remember to switch off at the end of the day.
  • Make sure you are prioritising the tasks you need to complete in the day and make sure these are realistic.
  • Manage expectations at home and with your colleagues, it is easy to fall into the trap of taking on more work, which results in you working through the night, this can have a negative impact on your home life and as previously mentioned your own mental health.

Here are some additional quick tips to help you keep on track and manage your work-life balance.
